..... Cathedral

St Pauls Cathedral in fact. One of the most iconic buildings of London, it is the replacement cathedral built by Sir Christopher Wren following the loss of the previous one in the 1666 Great Fire of London.

Over the years there have been moves to keep the views of the Cathedral clear from most sides but slowly and surely we are losing them. There are a number of listed views of buildings and the one that covers St Pauls is from Ludgate Circus, but there are even rumours that the government will eventually allow the full view to be lost. Whilst most countries in the world would want to preserve views of their historic buildings it seems like the powers that be here have had enough history now.

I've always found it quite difficult to find a nice open shot of the Cathedral. I will have to try Ludgate Circus when next in London!

Difficult to find a view, for sure, but you're lucky to find it free of scaffolding! It's been obscured by steel poles the last few times I've been in London!
